We unite biotech, pharma, and other life science professionals to support local nonprofits, volunteer in the community, and expand access to opportunity through internships and career pathways.
Our Mission and Vision
We activate the financial and human capital of the life sciences industry and partner with nonprofits to disrupt the cycle of poverty in our communities.
Life Science Cares Philadelphia is committed to help provide access to basic needs, access to education and access to opportunity.
Life Science Cares (LSC) leverages the power and resources of the life science industry to solve one of our most intractable social issues: poverty. We currently operate in locations that boast a critical mass of companies working in biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, and research: Boston, Philadelphia, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York and Switzerland.
Our Pillars for Change
Our work focuses on three interconnected pillars that address both immediate needs and long-term solutions to poverty: Basic Needs, Education, and Opportunity. These pillars guide our grantmaking strategy and ensure that every dollar invested creates measurable impact.
Meeting Basic Needs
We support organizations that provide essential services like food, housing, and healthcare to ensure that all Philadelphians have access to the resources they need to survive and thrive.
Empowering Through Education
By funding educational programs that enhance literacy, STEM learning, and after-school opportunities, we empower individuals to achieve their full potential and break the cycle of poverty.
Building Opportunity
We create career pathways through mentorship, internships, and job training, opening doors for underrepresented talent and fostering economic growth in our communities.
