Over the past 10+ weeks, 30 talented students, all Pell Grant eligible and from underrepresented backgrounds, interned at leading life sciences companies across Greater Philadelphia. These students took the spotlight at the Showcase, presenting their work, sharing their experiences, and stepping into what comes next.

The event was intern-led, with Context Therapeutics intern Michelle Vo serving as emcee. She welcomed Lake N. Paul, PhD, Founder and President of BioAnalysis, LLC, and long-time Project Onramp host, to the podium to celebrate the interns and issue a clear call to action: more companies are needed to host these rising leaders in summer 2026.

Executive Director Jenn Parrado closed out the program by echoing Lake’s remarks, encouraging attendees to join the growing community of supporters investing in the next generation of scientists, analysts, and changemakers.

Career Pathways Are Opening

The Showcase didn’t just celebrate a summer of learning, it marked a launch point. Several companies are already considering interns for future roles, and we’re hearing early signs of job offers taking shape.

Through Project Onramp, students not only gain hands-on experience, but also access to a professional network, mentors, and the confidence to envision themselves thriving in life sciences.

Giving Back, One Bookmark at a Time

In true Life Science Cares fashion, the event also included a meaningful give-back. Attendees created handwritten bookmarks to accompany backpacks distributed through the organization’s Back to School drive. These personal notes of encouragement will be delivered to students across the city this month — a small gesture with a lasting message: this community believes in their future.
