Summary:
Are you passionate about ensuring meaningful training? Do you enjoy collaborating across teams and functions? As a member of the Medical Affairs Learning & Development team, you will utilize your skills to ensure optimal training, aligned with strategic priorities and cutting-edge science.
The Sr. Manager Medical Affairs Learning & Development ensures Medical Affairs stakeholders have the information and skills necessary to function at their highest level and is responsible for development, maintenance, and execution of comprehensive training programs to support Seagen’s pipeline and marketed products. The Sr. Manager will support multiple programs and helps plan and must leverage strong clinical and scientific acumen as an oncology subject matter expert and must be able to work collaboratively with Medical Directors and field medical teams to ensure training content is closely aligned with medical strategy and team needs. Prior field medical experience or Medical Affairs training experience is required. This role will report to the Director of Medical Affairs Learning and Development.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of therapeutic training materials in collaboration with the therapeutic area partners (internal and external) to ensure the content is aligned with goals, functional area needs, and overall strategic objectives
- Ensure that therapeutic materials are updated in a timely manner
- Lead the design of a cross-functional training strategies for both new hires and ongoing learning that enhances the skill, technical/scientific product knowledge, and competency of Medical Affairs personnel
- Instill a spirit of continuous improvement to consistently enhance existing programs and apply innovative training approaches and technology platforms
- Support the implementation of the new hire onboarding initiatives including development and maintenance of materials that facilitate efficient assimilation
- Optimize how Medical Affairs utilizes the learning management systems (TrainingWire / ComplianceWire and EDGE / Cornerstone), leveraging emerging training innovations when appropriate to ensure optimal outcomes
- Work in close collaboration with team members from across Medical
- Affairs, HR, IT, Clinical Development, Compliance/Legal, etc. to ensure training is in line with departmental goals and strategies
- Work with moderate supervision and with latitude for independent judgment and discretion
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Life Science or Education
- 5 years of relevant Medical Affairs experience required, ideally focused on oncology
- A solid understanding of adult learning principles and training
- Strong organizational skills and experience in managing multiple priority projects
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment with a high sense of urgency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific degree (e.g. PhD, PharmD, MD) highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of Medical Affairs Training or Field Medical (e.g. MSL, CVO, HEOR) experience highly preferred.
- Experience implementing training consistent with adult learning principles is preferred.
- Experience working in an Oncology setting with strong scientific acumen.
- Experience in managing data electronically.
- Excellent written (ability to compose and edit internal communications) and verbal communications (can work across functions and with various levels of management) skills as well as strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to organize and interpret large amounts of information into smaller, bite-sized stories

The hiring pay range for this position is $141,000 to $183,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
