Summary:

The Sr. Data Product Analyst is a critical role on our team that provides a thorough examination of customer needs with respect to business processes and data, identifies functional and non-functional requirements, and ensures intended value of data-focused products and services is achieved . In this role, you will develop strong partnerships with business and technical teams to prototype and deliver high-quality, secure, innovative solutions that meet end user needs. This role will develop subject matter expertise in various business areas, foundational data, application, and platform functionality to support effective translation of business use cases into requirements. Effectively translating stakeholder problem statements into data solutions and user experiences that drive effective decision making for teams across Seagen will be the cornerstone of success for this role.

Principal Responsibilities:

Ideation & Problem Definition:

  • Apply Human Centered Design principles such as to support discovery, ideation, and capturing business value
  • Develop user stories and proposals that effectively communicate business value of data-related efforts
  • Evaluate and advise on opportunities for continuous improvement of data product design and delivery
  • Lead EDA (exploratory data analysis) as part of data product discovery and work intake
  • Work with Data Product Manager and business stakeholders to translate product roadmaps into value propositions and impact assessments that effectively capture voice of the customer
  • In collaboration with Data Product Managers, provide recommendations to senior management to support defining priorities based on overarching corporate goals, strategies, and objectives

Data Product Design:

  • Approach stakeholder engagement with curiosity to understand downstream value being created by operationalizing data and translate that knowledge back to technical teams
  • Lead discussions with business stakeholders and generate associated outputs that translate data product design to value
  • Contribute to and execute on framework for incorporating requirements, design, and user stories into DSS&S agile teams
  • Adhere to and provide recommendations to optimize Data Product Documentation framework that will evolve based on business needs, compliance requirements and changing technologies
  • Apply UX and design thinking principles to data product requirements, development, and delivery
  • Provide insight ownership to scrum teams by operating from “storytelling with data” mindset
  • Understand current and potential technical tools, capabilities, system, and platform boundaries in order to design effective and scalable solutions
  • Effectively engage in feedback loops with various stakeholders, including business and development teams
  • Develop proof of concepts and wireframes as needed to support design and development
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in understanding design standards and any technical constraints
  • Coordinate and lead prototype development, participate in user acceptance reviews and demos, partner with technical leads on creation of design documents and artifacts
  • Develop feature files to support testing and ensure adherence to compliance framework
  • Lead data analysis on agile teams, including source to target mapping, data profiling, quality verification, research, and schema design
  • Conduct application, platform, and/or integration impact assessments based on data, technology, and business logic changes
  • Support defining baseline and target business architectures with objective of modelling intersections of information and data
  • Collaborate with your peers to thread fabric of how work across product roadmaps is connected to support knowledge sharing, gain efficiencies, and enhance insights
  • Provide UAT support and ensure data product design and documentation adheres to compliance guardrails where applicable

Engagement:

  • Work within sprints to deliver on portfolio value within quarter while partnering with Data Product Manager to provide forward-looking discovery/ideation to support future sprints
  • Collaborate with Data Product Manager to provide recommendations that inform both backlog prioritization and continuous improvement of existing portfolio of data solutions
  • Partner with Data Product Managers in development and delivery of content to support communications and stakeholder management throughout data product lifecycle
  • Support value-capture of solutions throughout data product lifecycle
  • Provide decision making coordination on data product design and UX with buy-in from other key stakeholders
  • Assist with development and delivery of content to support communications and stakeholder management
  • Engage with data engineers and developers to effectively execute and iterate on design plans
  • Participate in feedback loops and leverage Azure DevOps to capture metrics on developer efficiency, velocity, and foster culture of shared responsibility, collaboration, and empowerment
  • Contribute to an active data community where Seagen employees are sharing best practices and learning from each other and from industry leader

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience working with data warehousing and/or reporting tools such as Snowflake, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • 3+ years experience with understanding and querying relational databases. SQL expertise preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience delivering within agile development methodology
  • Hands-on experience with user story generation, including ownership of user story epics to support technical delivery, defining definition of ready, and confirmation of acceptance criteria and required sign-offs within SCRUM/Agile environment
  • Familiarity with reviewing and creating logical and conceptual data models
  • Curious to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Proven track record of facilitating decision making processes, including leadership presentations
  • Ability to manage transformation of problem statement/idea into solution recommendation and delivery
  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate business value of data-related efforts
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Experience leading stakeholder engagement, building partnerships and collaboration across diverse business teams and facilitating the process of defining project goals and requirements

The hiring pay range for this position is $127,000 to $164,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
