Position Summary

Seagen is currently launching its first product in Europe in the therapeutic area of HER2+ metastatic breast cancer.

The successful candidate will lead Seagen’s Affiliate in Germany, currently located in Munich. They will drive P&L for Seagen products within the market, lead and execute local pricing and market access activities and develop broader local plans for world-class launches and ongoing success. This is a unique opportunity for a strong market leader to shape Seagen’s International footprint and play a key role on the broader International Leadership Team.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Execute launch plans for Seagen products in the UK & Ireland for current and future pipeline products, establishing ambitious revenue growth and profit targets, coupled to prudent cost management. Maximize the potential of this life-changing portfolio.
  • Identify, propose, develop and execute local pricing and market access (P&MA) strategies that are consistent with European P&MA strategy.
  • Establish strong working relationships with external bodies as needed (Payors, Policy makers, Patient Associations, KOLs, etc).
  • Drive a high-performing, dynamic culture by fostering innovation, customer-focus, personal accountability, business acumen and a commitment to success.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, quality, legal and healthcare compliance requirements, corporate policies and procedures, and drive this culture in the local organization.
  • Foster an environment of strong cross-functional collaboration at Seagen, within the local organization, regionally and globally. Recruit, hire, train and retain top talent.
  • Represent Seagen in UK & Ireland and uphold high professional standards at all times internally and externally.
  • Identify and champion business development opportunities.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should be a dynamic biopharmaceutical leader, who is able to lead something exceptional. This person will have proven abilities as a commercial leader with P&L responsibility, perhaps as a Business Unit Leader or General Manager in the biopharmaceutical industry. They will have led successful product launches including direct experience of taking an oncology or specialty product through successful reimbursement in the UK & Ireland, driven revenue growth,have a strong reputation for excellent cross-functional collaboration and building high performing teams.

Specifically, they will possess the following:

  • Undergraduate (Bachelors) degree required, MBA and/or post graduate qualifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills. Ability to manage up, down and across.
  • Strong commercial leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, either as a BU Lead within UK&IRL or General/Country Manager.
  • A successful track record overseeing product launches, ideally within the Oncology and Hematology arena or Specialty Care.
  • A track record of demonstrating integrity and respect of the ethical principles that inform the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Impressive experience and success in developing and executing market access and reimbursement strategies. A thorough understanding of the market access and reimbursement environment and processes in the UK and Ireland.
  • An ability to build relationships rapidly with KOLs and other key external stakeholders.
  • Clear knowledge and awareness of regulatory, distribution and supply chain in Germany.
