Summary:

The MSAT Sr. Scientist uses expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts to serve as the single departmental point of contact, and demonstrates technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought. They work on manufacturing issues of diverse scope by leveraging data analysis to identify innovative and practical solutions. They identify and champion new ideas and technologies that enhance business processes within functional area. They may lead an intra-department project or initiative involving other contributors. They may supervise the activities of more junior personnel and would be responsible for driving the development of those employees. They contribute toward peer reviewed publications, invention of IP, internal reports, and/or regulatory filings.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies scientific theory and principles to relevant areas of manufacturing
  • Leads significant components of manufacturing or technology projects. May serve as functional area lead for clinical programs/inter-departmental initiatives
  • Leverages literature, ICH/Regulatory guidance, and practical experience to perform their work and influence CMC strategies
  • Recommends and implements new technology that advances knowledge and productivity within department
  • Authors and reviews technical reports, manufacturing documents, regulatory submissions, and publications
  • Presents at department, project team, and sr. management meetings. May present externally at scientific conferences
  • Motivates and supports the career development and technical growth of direct reports. Regularly meets with, sets clear goals and expectations, and provides timely feedback to direct reports

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical experience within relevant development and/or manufacturing technologies and unit operations. Preferably experience with equipment utilized in commercial cGMP manufacturing facilities
  • Experience requir
  • Good knowledge of structured methodologies for process design, scale-up/down models, process control strategies, process validation and continuous process verification
  • The ability to work effectively in small matrix teams in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and a high level of urgency
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as on cross-functional and cross-site teams
  • Experience working with Contr

  • B.S. and 14+ years; M.S. and 11+ years; Ph.D. and 3+ years

The hiring pay range for this position is $123,000 to $159,500 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.   Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
