Summary

Sr. Managers, Technical Transfer leverage scientific expertise to lead and manage multiple tech transfer activities for internal or external manufacturing of antibody intermediate, drug substance, and drug product. They collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to plan, implement, and monitor tech transfer activities to ensure critical project timelines and milestones are met. They coordinate efforts across functional areas and ensure efficient communication to deliver timely identification and resolution of risks. They may author or review change controls and technical documents in support of tech transfer. They may supervise junior personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tech transfer plans in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of tech transfers of antibody intermediate, drug substance, and drug product from development to commercial manufacturing and between commercial sites
  • Manage post-tech transfer activities to deliver key CMC milestones (e.g., regulatory submissions, product launch)
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure efficient transfer of product knowledge and manufacturing processes
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to deliver successful, complex tech transfers
  • May oversee managers or specialists to deliver tech transfer activities or initiatives Motivates and supports the career development and technical growth of direct reports
  • Identify and manage potential project risks or delays, and provide regular updates to senior management
  • Identify and develop standardized tools and procedures to establish best practices for tech transfer project management

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cell culture, purification, conjugation and/or fill-finish operations
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy are essential
  • Experience in GMP biologics manufacturing preferred
  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturing Organizations preferred
  • 2+ years project management experience preferred
  • PMP certification or relevant coursework preferred

Education:

  • B.S. and 10+ years, M.S., and 8+ years, or Ph.D. and 5+ years
  • Background or degree in relevant field, experience with project management, technology transfer, and multiple relevant manufacturing areas

The hiring pay range for this position is $141,000 to $183,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.   Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
