Summary:

The Sr. ServiceNow Developer will be a seasoned administrator and software engineer responsible for developing and implementing ServiceNow custom solutions and modules at Seattle Genetics, as part of the Enterprise Services group.

This role is accountable for platform design, development, and implementation of enterprise wide ServiceNow capabilities across the platform, including ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, HR and other modules or custom applications as necessary. They will be responsible for implementing integrations and automation workflows to provide a modern, scalable, and reliable workflow platform.

This team is additionally responsible for all operational activities related to the services provided, including 24x7 monitoring, support and pre-emptive system maintenance and remediation where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing ServiceNow Reports and Dashboards needed to provide metrics to stakeholders and ITSM team
  • Configure/Customize ServiceNow applications, platform and integrations including creating workflows and customizing the UI
  • Continuously improve the self-service portal and build catalog Items from requirements
  • Develop custom applications as required on the ServiceNow platform
  • Produce technical designs providing high levels of reliability for ServiceNow services while complying with enterprise architecture and security standards, industry regulations and best practices
  • Manage production and non-production ServiceNow instances following defined change control processes
  • Apply an “automation first” mindset to reduce manual inefficiencies
  • Develop monitoring and reporting on the health, effectiveness, and efficiency of our ServiceNow services
  • Provide advanced support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting, fixing bugs and conducting root cause analysis
  • Create and maintain training plans, materials, and documentation for application users, and coordinate ongoing training sessions for Service now users
  • Collaborates with other teams to provide ServiceNow best practices and design patterns for applications, workflows, and integrations
  • Write test cases for functional UAT testing
  • Help identify, evaluate, and drive adoption of processes and procedures that enhance the productivity and predictability of our business
  • Other duties as assigned by organization leadership

Qualifications:

  • Must have user experience, focus, and excel in portal design and workflow
  • Experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, including the creation and/or customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Service Requests, etc.
  • Well-versed in the ServiceNow data model and relationships
  • Has designed and implemented custom ServiceNow platform applications
  • Must have a solid understanding of the impact of ServiceNow best practices on user experience, integrations, and platform applications
  • Skilled in working with REST, WebHooks, JSON, SOAP, and other integration technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SSO, LDAP and identity integration solutions
  • Automation mindset, with a talent for scripting in Powershell and/or other relevant languages
  • Proven ability with Performance Analytics, RDBMS/SQL, JDBC and the MID server
  • Strong Knowledge of ITSM, ITIL, and SDLC
  • Comfortable operating in an Agile-based environment
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with others, to influence based upon knowledge and experience
  • Able to communicate complex technology issues and solutions to non-technical senior leaders and executives
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Education and Experience:

  • 8 years in IT with 5+ years of ServiceNow development, configuration, and administration experience
  • 3+ years advanced experience in Javascript or related development
  • Experience with Jelly for UI development is desirable
  • Significant experience with the ITSM / ITOM modules and ServiceNow platform services
  • Experience with HR, SecOps, ITBM and other modules is highly desirable
  • Relevant ServiceNow certification in good standing
  • ITIL v3/v4 certification is desirable
  • Time spent in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and/or medical device industry is desirable
  • Awareness of 21 CFR Part 11, SOX and software validation processes is desirable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience will be considered

The hiring pay range for this position is $127,000 to $163,900 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.   Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
