Summary
The core responsibility of this job is to design and optimize analytical test methods to support development of novel small molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug-linkers. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of modern chromatographic and spectrometric techniques with demonstrated application of these skills in supporting small molecule analytical development. Work is typically project based and highly collaborative.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical test method development in support of manufacturing small molecule pharmaceuticals and intermediates
- Qualify test methods against ICH guidelines. Prepare technical transfer documents and development reports. Assist in troubleshooting analytical methods with third party contract manufacturers
- Develop reaction process monitoring using a variety of analytical methods. Work collaboratively with process chemists to ensure test methods generate data useful to process development
- Assist in impurity and unknown identification using spectroscopic instrumentation (e.g., MS, FTIR)
- Be an active member and team player in the Process Chemistry group
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years professional experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Hands on familiarity in common analytical separation techniques (HPLC, GC) used to measure purity and potency of organic compounds.
- Hands-on familiarity in techniques used for the characterization of the physical properties of organic compounds (e.g., MS, FTIR, UV).
- Familiar with modern drug development concepts (e.g., DoE, QbD)
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Education:
- Master’s degree or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
